Description: Hi,
I don't have a huge job, I would just like two egress windows cut into my basement by someone who is knowledgeable about concrete cutting. I can give you as much information as I can and maybe you could give a rough estimate for the cost of the work, or even if it is possible.
I have two existing standard basement windows 32X14. The egress windows require a RO of 32x44.5. So I guess there would be 2 32 inch horizontal cuts and 4 30.5 inch vertical cuts. My basement wall is 8.5 to 9 inch poured concrete, I'm pretty sure there is rebar, the house was built in the 60s. I have not dug out the window well yet or anything, I need to know how much clearance you need to run the saw outside and inside if necessary. The window wells have to be at least 36x36 to meet code, but that only gives a 2 inch clearance on the outside. One of the inside walls is finished drywall, so I would need to know how much to tear out.
Let me know what you think, no hurry on this project. I will probably complete the work in the early spring or late winter.
